FAXSMART [Faxsmart]

FAXSMART is a UNIX-based faxing system operating on Solaris 1.x and 2.x,Solaris x86, and Interactive UNIX platforms.A CCITT Group 3-compatible modem is required. Modem communication withIBM, SPARC, and HP workstations is in compressed T.4 format at 19.2kilobaud.Fax delivery is Group compatible and offers use of multiple recipientsand distribution lists. Faxes can be scheduled for delivery during off-hours. For out-routing of incoming faxes, there is a Direct InwardDialing (DID) option available.Fax composition offers a programmable page header, including date, time,page number, and total pages. There is automatic cover page generation,including sender and recipient information, reference number, date, andnumber of pages. It allows ASCII, Raster image, or Postscript import.Among its software features are the ability to fax directly from allpopular applications. It has easy-to-learn, easy-to-use interfaces,offers network licensing, archiving of faxes, limited only be storageavailable, and support for Postscript and HPGL printers.Software is distributed on 8mm Extrabyte tape cartridges.
